Color Me Creative Fluff Feather Challenge

I made this card for the current challenge on the Color Me Creative site. The challenge requires a featherey, fluffy image. I used my retired SU stamp set called Spring Song. SU card stock is Sahara Sand and Cool Caribbean. Designer paper is SU retired Fall Flowers. Pearls are SU and the sentiment is a retired SU stamp set called With Gratitude. For the image I used the Cryogen #89 Pearlescent card stock and used Copic markers: E44, E43 E42, E41, E40, BG13, BG11, YG67, YG63. The ribbon is PTI Fine Linen dotted and the swirls are from the EK Success punch Swirl Flourish.

I hope to load up more stuff. I have plenty of it. I really need to be better at posting on my blog. So please be patient with me. Thanks for stopping by and come back again.

About the Birthday Card below...

Thanks for all the compliments of the birthday card dated Feb 8. I hate to burst some of your bubbles but I did no coloring or adding bling or embossing to this card. Oh how I would love to let you think I did do those things but truthfully this DP is by SEI and is called Moonrise. The papers in this set are already embossed, blinged and colored. It is one of the simplest cards I have ever made - just layers and a sentiment. Goes to show that sometimes the easiest cards can be the prettiest.

Birthday Card for a Friend

This is a birthday card I made for my crafting/stamping buddy Lisa. Her birthday was last Friday. I really like this card. It has shine to it which I hope shows some in the picture. It was a relatively simple card to make - just a few layers and a die for the sentiment. Here is the list of supplies:

Stamp sentiment: SU Blooming with Happiness; HB sentiment from SU Messages for Mom
Cardstock: SU Very Vanilla; Designer Print: SEI Moonrise
Nestibility die: Double Ended Tags
Brads: Stampin Up (SU)

January Challenges

The first part of January I decided to jump in and join some challenges on some of the sites that I regularly frequent. The first site was Suzanne Dean's challenge group. http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com and you can go to the Groups tab at the top of the screen and choose CMC Copic Challenge Group. Suzanne Dean is a fantabulous and talented person. Her specialty is Copics. She has classes on her site that you can take and she also does some traveling to offer her classes in places across the US. You can see her blog at http://www.scrapbitz.com You won't be disappointed.

The other site is called Outlawz. http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com Each day's challenge is listed under the tab Challenges at the top of the screen. This community site just started on Jan 10, 2011.

You can join the challenges on both of these sites. There are no requirements or fees in order to join.

The card above is the first card I've ever made for a challenge. It was for Suzanne Dean's challenge group. These challenges run for two weeks which gives you more time to work on the project. If your card is chosen, done randomly, you will win something - usually something like stamp images, Copic markers, paper, etc.

Outlawz has a different challenge for each day. Since they are relatively new, they will soon be offering prizes for the ones who enter these challenges. Each day has a different requirement: birthday, sketch, color, scrapbook pages, clean & simple, colored pencil medium, and copics/promarkers.

Here are the supplies I used for the above card. The challenge was called FUR and the requirement was using Copics of course as are all of the challenges for Suzanne Dean's challenge site. This challenge was to show one's skills in coloring fur on an animal with Copic markers.

Stamp image and sentiment are from my stash.
Card stock: Stampin Up (SU) Chocolate Chip and Whisper White; Designer Paper: stash
Nestibilities: Double Ended Tags & Octagon Dies
Ribbon: SU Chocolate Chip; Brads - SU
Ink: SU Pretty in Pink & Chocolate Chip
This was the first card I made for any of the Outlawz challenges. It was entered for the Monday Happy Birthday challenge (HB0110). Here is the supply list:
Sentiment: from my stash
Cardstock: SU Very Vanilla; Designer Print: SEI - Juliette
Ink: SU Plum
Nestibilities: Labels 4
Martha Stewart Border Punch - Doily Lace and MS Pearls

Now this card is one of my favorites for the January challenges. I love pinks and greens together and the brown was a nicely added color. This was for an Outlawz challenge for the Monday Birthday (HB0117)challenge which required pink, green and brown for the colors. I sent this card to my best friend of 50+ yrs, Marie. Her birthday is today.
Here are the supplies I used:
Sentiment: SU Messages for Mom stamp set
Cardstock: SU Chocolate Chip; Designer Print: Basic Grey Eva
Ink: Copics - YG13, R81, R83, R85
Nestibilities: Labels Trio and Blossom
Ribbon: SU Chocolate Chip
Martha Steward Border punch - Arch Lattice
Sakura Jelly Roll Glitter Pen - Clear Star - used on the pink flower

When I started on this layout, I didn't really have a plan and made it up as I went along. Therefore, it is not a favorite. I overdid the glitter which I wasn't satisfied with. This card was entered into the Outlawz Challenge for Color Tuesday (CC0111) using the colors red, pink, and white. Here are the supplies:
Stamp sentiments: retired SU
Cardstock: SU Real Red, Whisper White, pink from stash; Designer Print: Cloud Nine
Ink: SU Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black
Glitter: SU Glass Glitter - Champagne
Ribbon: SU Pretty in Pink; SU border punch - Scallop Trim; red rhinestones from stash
